My daily driver is an M1 Mac mini and I have an M1 MacBook Air. I only have one Mac with 10.13, the i7 mini that I use as a home theater server. The reason I used the 2012 i7 Mac mini (not iMac) is because the Sony firmware software for the a7 required up to 10.13 (High Sierra). Backwards compatibility of software and firmware upgrades is just going to get worse for you with time. I practically had to give away my like new 2015 iMac when I upgraded to a new one. I purchased a used 2020 MacBook Pro fully loaded dirt cheap. The huge sales of laptops and PC's during the lockdowns has created a real glut of used equipment on the market, right now. Wow. ![]() ![]() This has been the most awful procedure I've ever experienced with a camera. I thought a restart might help but now I have to wait until 60 updates are installed. So, I put them on an ExFAT USB thumb drive off of my Mac, but when I plug the drive into the Win 7 VM, Windows says it's ready to use, but it's not showing up. I can't download the camera or lens updaters from Sony because the web site no longer supports Win 7. Well, I'm trying to fire up Widows 7 VM with Fusion and there are a bunch of updates. ![]()
